About the Artist
Casey “Rev” Cassel (she/they) is a tattoo artist based in Philadelphia, PA, where they have spent most of their life cultivating a deep sense of community. Operating under the moniker "Reverie", Casey's work reflects both personal and collective stories, captured through a unique and mindful approach to tattooing.
A lifelong artist, Casey has always found joy in creating with her hands. From early experiences working with fiber arts, mixed media painting, ink drawing and exploration of many instruments all throughout life - it always made sense to pursue a career in which she is expressing through tactile art forms.
After graduating with a degree in Music Education and working as an orchestra teacher for a couple years Casey made the leap to learn tattooing because of her deep appreciation of the practice, a desire to connect deeply with others, and the nagging feeling that life could be so much more fulfilling when you get to share your art with others.
Specializing in machine-free, hand-poked tattoos, each piece is a testament to patience and intention. The process is slow and deliberate, with every dot of pigment placed thoughtfully under the skin. The result is a soft, textured, and organic appearance that deepens and softens over time.
Casey’s work is folk-inspired, illustrative, and ornamental, often reflecting themes of simplicity, childlike wonder, and a deep sense of nostalgia.
